Thank you to all our students, staff, stall holders and community volunteers who came together to make the Samworth Church Academy Christmas Market a huge success last Thursday!
And a special thank you to the Melissa Grace Hatton’s Children’s Trust who provided loads of prizes for the stalls run by our students.
With over 50 stalls, including Santa's Grotto, the very popular human fruit machine, raffle, sold out tombolas, handmade crafts, toys, sweet treats, live music from our talented student band, games and funfair rides, there was something for everyone at the Christmas Market. There was a great festive feel throughout the Academy
A special thank you to our students who ran their own stands, and to our community volunteers and Samworth Church colleagues who donated their time, effort and prizes, and without whom this fun event would not have been possible. And thank you to everyone who came - and we hope to see you back next year!
Academy+ funds ambitious projects at the Samworth Church Academy to provide our children with the extra skills, character development and experiences they need to have a further 70 great years after they leave the Academy.
We have called it Academy+ because it provides support and experiences in a way that the standard curriculum does not. Each year the Department for Education send us an amount of money per child and we use this money in the best way possible to give our children the education they need. But to become a well rounded and resilient person, we believe they need to experience things outside the normal curriculum. And that's where Academy+ comes in. This academic year Academy+ has funded a residential trip for a whole year group of children and Project Can Do, which helps young people realise their potential by putting their own business plan into action and mentorship with local business people.
Academy+ relies on the generous donations of our supporters to provide our young people with amazing opportunities like Bushcraft Adventure week.
There are several ways to support Academy+:
